Burleighfield was established in 1976 when Eric Gibbard, Ted Knell and Dennis Ball started the company. All three were professional foundrymen, who had been casting for many years. The foundry was based in a building originally built to make stained glass windows for Liverpool Cathedral and therefore had a history of high quality craft industry.

In 1996 the founders of the business retired and Paul Dimishky, the son-in-law of Eric Gibbard, carried on the family tradition. Burleighfield continued to cast high quality work at Loudwater, including bronze sculpture and architectural metalwork ranging from small casts to major projects.

Burleighfield had a good reputation in its field, casting for top artists throughout Europe. In addition we have worked for organisations such as the Tate Gallery, and The Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Works cast include those by Elizabeth Frink, Philip Jackson, David Backhouse, Oscar Nemon, Kenneth Armitage and many others.

Following nearly 30 years of casting, Burleighfield, in July 2003, has merged its operation with those of Nautilus Fine Art. The old site at Loudwater is due for re-development.
