Nautilus Fine Art Foundry, which had been founded in the 1980's, using a home-made 100lb capacity furnace, was originally located in London.

However, in 1998 Finch Seaman made the inspired decision to acquire Nautilus and it was relocated from London into a purpose-built fine art foundry on their Braintree site.

Since then it has expanded rapidly and has an enviable reputation for superior craftsmanship, under the guidance of the current managment team.

In early 2001 Nautilus had by now outgrown its purpose-built building and suitable extra accommodation was needed. A neighbouring property had become vacant and Nautilus moved its chasing shop and patination facilities into that building during 2001.

In early 2003 a decision to merge Nautilus with the equally well respected Burleighfield Arts was taken and all production was concentrated at the Braintree facility under the Art Founders name - now Morris Singer Art Founders.
